Keyboard shortcuts not working on Mac

i'm using captivate 9 on macbook air running osx el capitan. i've been using on windows while well. i've run bit of difficulty. when doing software simulation, default stop cmd-enter. however, combination nothing. changed else , did work.

my bigger problem, however, when select object wish delete, , press delete key, sound nothing else happens. can right-click object , select delete context menu, , works. in context menu, shows delete key shortcut.

i tried renaming folder in ~/library/preferences, , let captivate recreate it, no luck. (i saw method in thread referring v6).

any thoughts? slowing me down.

the cmd-enter may conflict apple's default "global keyboard shortcuts."

take here:

mac keyboard shortcuts - apple support

as delete key, here reserved keys using delete:

option-deletedelete word left of insertion point.
control-hdelete character left of insertion point. or use delete.
control-ddelete character right of insertion point. or use fn-delete.
fn-deleteforward delete on keyboards don't have forward delete key. or use control-d.
control-kdelete text between insertion point , end of line or paragraph.
command-deleteselect delete or don't save in dialog contains delete or don't save button.

you can use options within system preferences disable shortcuts conflict.

here's apple's guidance creating , disabling shortcuts:

note:   you can create keyboard shortcuts existing menu commands. cannot define keyboard shortcuts general purpose tasks such opening app or switching between apps.

  1. choose apple menu > system preferences, click keyboard, click shortcuts.
  2. select action in list want change.
  3. double-click current shortcut, press new key combination want use.you cannot use each type of key (for example, letter key) more once in key combination.
  4. quit , restart apps you’re using new keyboard shortcut take effect.

if assign keyboard shortcut exists command or app, new shortcut won’t work. find menu command that’s using it, reassign keyboard shortcut item.

to disable shortcut, deselect checkbox next description in list.

if want return shortcuts original key combinations, click restore defaults.
