Premiere Pro CC 2015.4 compatibility issues with El Capitan and rMBP 2015
hello !
i have full spec mbp 2015 - amd radeon r9 m370x gpu , 16 gb of ram installed.
this last attempt try , fix before doing clean install ( nightmare av post-production station ) , going yosemite...seeming solution problem.
from i've read far ( please contradict me if it's not true ) os 10.11.6 not entirely support premiere pro cc 2015.
i working on personal project shot on black magic footage / prores 422 hq - 720p prores proxies on usb 3.0 external drive
my problem while scrubbing, , editing...starting smooth , responsive, premiere pro starts loading cpu trough kernel_task, point of unusability, , problem stops if disconnect external monitor.
(problem persists on opencl , metal. software making premiere seq, after render, unresponsive)
i've done checks , smc, pram resets possible. new machine, , believe it's not hardware related.
it seems far knowledge gpu management problem between adobe software , way el capitan built, because using original 4k footage (not 720p proxies) in fcpx plays flawlessly, , keeps kernel task under 10%.
in premiere pro, after 10mins of scrubbing , sorting footage , forth, kernel_task @ 480-500% cpu, if ram usage remains below premiere pro usage. (kernel 1.5 gb / premiere pro 2.82 gb )
this creates unpleasant editing experience.
strange enough, stops when disconnect external monitor. ( why ??? less strain on gpu in-out maybe ? )
this beginning annoying because prefer working in adobe suite using fcpx.
if troubleshoot me, amazing. don't want clean install...i don't have time , resources go trough again
thank !
to whoever reads post , has same problem, solved issue.
kosmokaryote, life thereof: [technology] kernel_task consumes 100% of cpu on mac os x
my mbp being 11.5 not in aforementioned list , x86shim.kext not being culprit, decided bypass completely
the ioplatformpluginfamily.kext. (deleted library , saved in documents, keeping safe in case might need someday)
so far works, fans not stuck on high, , temperatures between 55 (idling) , 75 degrees celsius when rendering.
disclaimer :
i don't know how safe is, or how affect machine in future now, nothing out of ordinary.
