Premiere CC 2015.4 can't see mapped network drives (new issue)
our office works in network environment several nas storing projects , assets. have never had issues mapped drives being recognized in premiere (and in fact else in office still doesn't have issues). have had new editshare dam system installed , part of training trying drag assets/sequences editshare premiere wouldn't let me.
**side-note** not editshare issue. point out show how discovered issue.
i noticed in premiere media browser none of mapped network drives showing , neither non-mapped network locations. have read through issues , solutions presented in link media on network drive in premiere pro cc links other threads pointed in post #2 of thread. running on windows 10 (fully updated).
i have similar setup @ home, win10 (updated) , ppcc 2015.4 (fully updated). opened premiere there , can see mapped drives on network fine. mentioned other 2 editors , 2 producers can still see mapped drives in premiere fine.
in fact when went open project working on last week double-clicking on within explorer (from mapped drive) presented error:
not sure \\?\ was, disconnected mounted drives, , remounted them. still no good. opened command prompt , did "net use /persistent:no" , cleared drive mount persistence disconnected , remounted drives. again, no dice.
oddly enough, @ 1 point able open old project had been working on after performed "sync settings" premiere opening splash page , double-clicking project file (couldn't browse on network or mapped drives once inside premiere). regardless, still didn't recognize of media. able re-link media unchecking "use media browser locate files" still didn't solve issue of not seeing mounted drives. can't open projects within premiere on mounted drive , can't see mounted drives in media browser.
too add additional confusion, after effects , media encoder both see mapped network drives no problem!
- my account @ work administrator account (as home account)
- i have tried running premiere administrator, setting run administrator
- i have uninstalled , reinstalled premiere twice (once leaving preferences, second time deleting preferences)
- i have restarted pc multiple times
- the firewall disabled both private , public networks
- windows defender disabled (as read create issues)
many of people in threads i've read premiere isn't meant function on network , should done locally. don't need hear please. it's been working fine ever since upgraded cc 3 or more years ago. i'll mention again it's working should 2 editor colleagues, 2 producer colleagues , me @ home.
if has other suggestions though, i'm @ stage i'll try short of reformat (i don't want that).
i had same problem , @ least in case, connected uac , how access tokens mapped drives handled in windows.
what worked me was:
1. click start, type regedit in start programs , files box, , press enter.
2. locate , right-click registry subkey hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\system.
3. point new, , click dword value.
4.type enablelinkedconnections, , press enter.
5. right-click enablelinkedconnections, , click modify.
6. in value data box, type 1, , click ok.
7. exit registry editor, , restart computer.
hope helps.
