LR on an external drive

i have lr 6.6.1 on desktop machine , on macair use tethered shooting, able use macbook pro instead.
however can use copy of lr on 2 machines.

is possible install on external hard drive , connect drive machine want use tethered shooting , run there ?
sounds simple enough can't work

any thoughts ??

not possible. parts of lightroom installation must on computer's system drive (which internal drive).

 

you sign out of 1 lightroom installation, sign in lightroom installation on macbook pro, , should work. , sign out of macbook pro installation when done using it, sign in elsewhere.

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
