Preview unable to keep up with video.
hi,
i trying premier cc hitting issue video preview window. video not keep more few couple of seconds although audio works fine. if stop preview take 4+ seconds catch up. video plays fine vlc media player. @ point cannot edit video @ , wary of paying monthly using premier.

cpu: intel i7-4790k (not overclocked)
ram: 16gb @ 1600mhz
graphics: nvidia gtx 1070 (zotac amp extreme)
graphics drivers: geforce 368.82 (14th july 2016).
audio: external usb dac (fiio e10)
capture / working drive: 3x sata3 ssd striped (windows software raid) on lsi 2940 sas controller.
drive benchmark (crystal mark 5x 1gb):
- seq q32t1 read: 644 mb/s, seq read: 395 mb/s
- seq q32t1 write: 331 mb/s, seq write: 299 mb/s
- 4k q32t1 read: 324 mb/s, 4k read: 24 mb/s
- 4k q32t1 write: 304 mb/s, 4k write: 88 mb/s
workflow;
video captured via dxtory: 2560x1440p 60fps using h264 - mpeg-4 avc (part 10) (x264) codec.
audio 1 captured via dxtory: stereo 48,000hz @ 128kb/s - mpeg layer 3 (mp3)
audio 2 captured via dxtory: stereo 48,000hz @ 64kb/s - mpeg layer 3 (mp3)
resulting file 40.9gb , video 28 minutes long.
open premier cc
start new project
rename , select ok.
import media.
drag media sequence window (bottom right timeline).
press play in preview window (scale fit, 1/2 resolution).
-- plays few frames , drops everything.
-- audio plays fine.
cpu: 20%
ram: 5gb used.
disk: 4%
i have used premier 1080 @ 30fps once or twice no issues have touched premier @ basic level. hoping quick fix turning option or 2 on / off somewhere.
any appreciated
h.264 not great codec edit large amount of footage in requires lot of work computer decode , playback. if use media encoder transcode codec such prores or dnxhd/hr you'll have easier time.
