LR catalog back up hanging up - taking hours

hi-

i have never backed catalog - yes, heard right. every time try, it's going on 2 hours or , cancel out. have ton of photos, not sure if that's problem, it's frustrating , don't know if normal. gets 3/4 complete , hangs.

 

i want move lr 5.7 cc, why want make sure have back-up, not sure do.

 

any suggestions?

to backup lr catalog file make copy of on external drive. catalog backup not copy images. should copying images external drive.

 

the problem having has folder permissions.

 

how large catalog file (not images)?

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
