Internal error occurred while processing XMP metadata

i'm working on series of form edits, won't allow me apply metadata via properties or action.  suspect issue might caused documents being over-edited , having multiple signature fields, thought i'd fire away question on forums either way, might have encountered issue , can confirm it's not supposed work (e.g. it's feature, not bug).

 

workflow , background info of project:

  1. large collection of pdf forms (no source files available, edited in acrobat on years , saved , closed again).
  2. most forms contain 1 or more signature fields.
  3. forms edited in acrobat pro dc.
  4. forms need have properties set (file > properties).

 

system details:

  • macbook pro (retina, 15-inch, 2013).
  • mac os x el capitan  (10.11.15),
  • acrobat pro dc 2015 release (continuous) | version 2015.017.20050

 

the issue.

  • file > properties dialog box opening fails on documents. e.g. no way access adding document description, set open options, set reading language using dialog box.
  • note: file > properties works fine on pdfs generate myself source files, it's not acrobat corruption issue (although have done complete uninstall , system clean-up of acrobat file remnants on system).  can confirm same issue occurs on windows 10 version of acrobat, 100% related pdfs, not acrobat.

 

the workaround partially works.

using action instead of properties dialog box allows me properties , metadata extent , make changes.  seem able set title, open options, language, etc. without issues using work-around. except changing author field. seems baked pdf , not editable, not through script (the title fields empty start out, set , had file name set, can edited using work around.).

anyone encountered issue? expected behaviour? know, can let client know whey can't things pdfs.

very odd. it's not expected behaviour, looks kind of corruption in xmp metadata.

are able export metadata xml file , inspect it? can output js console running code:

this.metadata

that might locate problem, although it's long shot...

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
