How do I fix an Illustrator file with the following error: "Can't open Illustration. Could not complete the requested operation"

i working day yesterday on illustrator file, saved , when wanted open again said "can't open illustration. not complete requested operation" can me fix file or knows it?

for cc 2015, may able through new document data recovery,

as appears, if there recover, know when starting up. proceed carefully, , choose right options, including whether overwrite original document or create new one; latter safer: former, work done after last automatic save lost, , incomplete recovery may have worse had.

if possible, have tried copy , paste artwork, possibly in groups/bits/whatever new document if applicable.

another thing tried first create new document , file>place (pdf contents, if any, of the) corrupted 1 see how may rescued way.
