Update, Version and Installation Issues

i upgraded pc few months ago (finally) illustrator has been buggy on new computer.  while troubleshooting , trying determine best course of action, i've found several conflicting pieces of information on adobe support pages , i'm confused , frustrated heck.

 

basic info front....

the original computer old dell optiplex 755.  1.9 ghz processor, 32 bit, , 4gb of ram     windows 7

(the trouble illustrator had on computer occasional "insufficient memory" when working large files/effects)

 

the new computer dell xps8900     3.4 ghz processor, 64 bit, , 16gb of ram      windows 7  (cannot upgrade windows 10)

 

i have adobe cs5.5 design premium  (cannot upgrade cc)

 

the difference 32 versus 64 bit operating system, illustrator cs5 supported 32 bit, , installation shows 32.

i'm aware illustrator can use 3-4 gbs of ram due 32 bit limitations

before says anything...upgrading either adobe cs5 suite cc or windows 10 not option.

 

question/issue 1

the adobe update application says entire product suite date. however, illustrator version installed 15.1.0 , photoshop 12.1 x32.  according adobe support page downloading installations , updates, photoshop cs5 12.0.4 , illustrator cs5 15.0.2.

so...are updates or not?  based on version numbers earlier have installed.  if that's case, why there no download installed version or after?  update application useless information provides "yes" or "no" products date...no version numbers, dates, etc.

 

question/issue 2

related above...the update app not showing errors nor can find errors in windows performance logs relate it.  if isn't recognizing there updates available, how can troubleshoot or correct this?  if date, how frack know?

 

question/issue 3

is there illustrator cs5.5 or cs5.1?

i've understood illustrator went cs5.1 when photoshop , other applications @ cs5.5.  on adobe download webpage cs5.5 design premium, shows illustrator 5.5.  see support page download adobe creative suite 5.5 products

is 5.5?  if yes, available update cs5.5 premium design suite , find , download installer it's not on of download pages on adobe.com.

 

question/issue 4

once have correct installation files downloaded, whatever are, recommended uninstall suite first , reinstall scratch or can run installation on existing installations?

 

these issues , difficulty finding information has me bonkers , embarrassed.  don't think i've gotten stupid, but....

 

thanks advice offered.

illustrator cs5.1 (there no illustrator cs.5.5) dammed old. not supported on windows 10. have upgrade cc subscription.

the updater not show errors, there no more updates version. have upgrade instead.

the suite updated 5.5 , indesign got number 5.5, acrobat changed 9 x, other apps got changed 5.1 , same 5.0, compatibility later versions added.

for os, have uninstall , subscribe cc.

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
