HLS-VOD. on-the-fly segmenting or offline pre-packaging with hlspackager? What is best practice?

hi,

i've noticed different behaviors @ reproducing 2 kinds of ams hls streams. consider following 2 approaches:

(a.) on-the-fly mp4 segmentation .ts files, out of hls apache module;

(b.) offline pre-packaging, hlspackager.exe tool adobe.

i need know robust , long living solution.

we planning use flowplayer + dailymotion hls.js plugin on client side, support ams/apache hls streaming on compatible browsers.

now, approach (a.) results in video reproduction no sound demo, due issues transmuxing mp4 hls stream.

approach (b.) instead works fine! demo

and not seem depend on m3u8 manifest meta infos, fragments produced approach (a.) , referenced correctly in m3u8 manifest result in reproduction no sound.

solution (b) not optimal because doubles storage need , complicates publication workflow

is there way have working on-the-fly mp4 segmentation? configuration or other means?

server instance: adobemediaserver5.0.10_x64 default bundled apache - standard , recommended config

host: windows server 2012

video: mp4/aac
