How to Fix my Lightroom catalogs so I can located all my photos?

hello, before start ,yes know made big mistakes on years in setting lightroom catalogs  , become disaster.

 

first have en catalogs , having missing photos in most.  although know photo exists can see them in photo after doing exhaustive search.  try , have lightroom locate in finder doesn't work in 99% of time. cause moved or name got changed.  thew photo may in several catalogs, don't ask me why , how  because somehow name have changed have big mess.

 

the photos spread on 3 drives 1 in imac , 2 attached drives imac    think simplest way take photos , load them on new lightroom catalog , load them drives, new.       how , not sure.  think create new catalog , import each photo drive or maybe can folder or maybe there faster way ? change name of photos , make other catalogs obsolete. 

 

maybe there easier way, help!  other solutions.  have 20,000 photos

yes, sounds want start over, easiest thing @ point ... ... lose edits , metadata have added photos. (the alternative fix problems, sounds difficult , time consuming given description above, possible).

 

it sounds want change workflow. recommend workflow photos never moved after imported (exception: if need move photos new hard drive or new computer, should move them). , must "cold turkey", never, not once, move photos (with 1 exception mentioned). recommend workflow use keywords , other metadata allow organize , search; rather organizing , searching via folders.

 

to start on ... may want move photos whatever location want them in using operating system. (remember, said never move them after import them, moving them before import okay). then, in lightroom, select file->new catalog, give catalog name in dialog box appears, , import photos using add option import them existing location (or can use copy option , lightroom can put photos in nice neatly arranged set of folders capture date). , never move them again (remember there 1 exception), use keywords , other metadata organize , search.

 

from on, use 1 catalog only. make life lot simpler. don't consider using multiple catalogs (unless have unrelated , distinct subject matter, such personal , work photos).

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
