Lightroom CC Update Fails, iOs 10.11.6. Problem importing raw from Nikon D500

lrcc won't allow me import raw files (nef) new nikon d500 camera.  when select folder files located, says previews unavailable.  if hit import button, following popup window - import results.  import operations not performed.  file not recognized raw format support in lightroom, file number.nef.

 

when go adobe application manager , attempt update creative cloud (photoshop , lr) photoshop update downloads successfully, update lr fails.  following message - unable extract downloaded files.  press retry download again.  i've hit retry dozens of times , each time fails after reaches 50%.

 

in reviewing comments/answers related issue in older posts i've attempted following suggested solutions no luck:

 

i've downloaded latest update via product updates, opened disk image, opened folder/packages, found .dmg files in packages, opened them, clicked , installed update installer.  result same, no preview , won't import nef files.

 

i've hit option/go in finder, selected library folder/applications support/adobe/ammupdater , deleted 1.0 folder, opened adobe application manager again go through update lr process.  still fails download.

 

i've read post needing delete 1.0 folder following above process both computer/library...... , users/user/library....., have no idea how access other library folder on imac other 1 find hitting option/go in finder, selecting library folder/applications support/adobe/ammupdater.

 

i have 2 questions -

 

1.  can give me solution fixing problem in simple, easy understand, language non-computer tech savvy person myself can understand?

 

2.  if not, can tell me how can speak actual living adobe support person can walk me through process fixing problem?

 

this extremely frustrating least!

the d500 requires lightroom cc 2015.5 or later.

try downloading , installing latest update (2015.6.1) here: keeping lightroom up-to-date

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
