sharpening artifacts?

i've noticed on d7200, , extent on d750. pictures fine lines, particularly diagonal lines, fine feathers on bird not straight. instead, show "jaggies."

my typical sharpening settings are:

amount: 50

radius: 1.0

details: 40

masking: variable

am overdoing it, or else @ play? i've found can pretty eliminate jaggies lowering sharpness little, lowering detail or increasing radius (which seems weird), lowering radius below 1.0 makes jagged edges worse. keep in mind, original settings above, image not oversharpened, it's few areas fine, diagonal lines.

also, appears lr causing issue.  if switch 1 of older processing methods, issue practically gone.  notice jaggies in first picture below?  "us navy" jagged, yellow on wingtip.  2012 process.  second version set 2003.
