How to use Subtract Front Shape Twice?

hello:

 

i use pc w/windows 10 (64 bit) illy cc

 

i have created shape (circle) , used rectangle remove lower half.

 

then created 3 lines pen tool , applied zig zag effect lines. after expanded appearance , used outline stroke. used minus front shape "wave" on circle. 

 

now, problem need remove yet shape result of previous shapes. but, apparently, illy doesn't want afford me simple pleasure.

 

i have, usual, spent many hours combing through faq , manual , have tried google solution. not mention trying know in illy result need.

 

can me? how can subtract yet shape same shape that's had minus front applied twice?

not sure i'm visualizing happening when try subtract shape same shape that's had minus front applied twice. screen capture helpful.

pathfinder tends group objects, maybe need ungroup shape before applying minus front again.

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
