Why is this SO Good!? AND FREE?
honestly, found story, apparently late party. i'm disgruntled final draft user since v4-v9 , updates laughable (only updated once, thank god). they're far behind curve, yet, they're still industry standard out of habit, not out of having best product. i've contacted them 3 years asking "when" browser-based, or @ least offer software or additional tack-on fee. got was, "sorry, that's not in plans." what!? contacted them couple days ago asking same thing, inspired write while on lunch break, but, couldn't open cloud-based scripts because don't have fd installed on work computer, home one.
i used try use celtx well, while on go, it's clunky, not 'fun', , not intuitive; way clicking around , there still bugs... , can't export .fdx document. however, discovered adobe story , holy crap - uh-mazing. same thing final draft, it's browser-based (thank you), it's intuitive character/action, etc. essential things want while writing (i don't care fd's stupid collaboration updates).
what final draft doesn't through stubborn heads ticky-tack random stuff tout doesn't matter writers. in day , age, have multiple computers , can't install on place, limited license. and, want write heading, action, dialogue, etc., , jump around script... , able use our software freely.
adobe story solves wrong final draft... , it's free. i'm writing find out "why." what's in adobe? mean, use photoshop, ae, etc... why give free? i'm not complaining, it's way free. and, adobe... i've been avid editor on 20 years , avid's watched pretenders come , go premiere dealing death blows avid's stability in hollywood. final cut flash in pan high end post houses swapping out avid premiere. guys listen editors want , not 'ahead' of curve, curve. keep begging avid same things like, "um, can dcp output else has? no? ugh." i'm getting tired of them i'm getting tired of final draft -- same thing. adobe changes industry , doesn't sit clinging history.
so, 2 cents worth - simply; thank you, adobe. truly.
is account totally free?
