Best way to import assets from Illustrator to Animate and batch update?

my brother , working on animation. i'm creating drawings in illustrator, , he's creating animation in animate cc. needs start animating already, i'm handing him unfinished images, i'm planning update repeatedly throughout project (polish, recolor,...). we're talking hundreds of image assets. best way set up, don't have manually export , import every image?

so far, can think of creating assets pngs. way auto-update images (providing size/center doesn't change). we'd explore possibility of keeping vectors. there easy export/import method this?

if decided go pngs after all, , created assets large enough intents , purposes, there downside? there loss of quality when rotating , scaling, opposed using vectors?

thanks!

all available features documented in work illustrator ai files in animate cc
