using rulers and guides-creating new guides

create guides

you can create guides both on stage , off stage (using menu) in different ways.

creating guides on stage

create guides on stage using following methods:

by dragging

• if rulers aren’t showing, choose view > show rulers.

• position pointer on left ruler vertical guide or on top ruler horizontal guide.

• drag guide position.

by double-clicking

• if rulers aren’t showing, choose view > show rulers.

• double-click on exact point on ruler want position guide.

from existing guides

• if rulers aren’t showing, choose view > show rulers.

• right-click on existing guide , choose add new guide.

  a guide created 20 pixels right (vertical guide), or 20 pixels bottom (horizontal guide).

creating guides off stage

you can create grid @ 1 go, or add guides individually captivate design area.

• choose view > new guide.

• specify whether horizontal or vertical guide, , specify position in pixels accordingly left of stage or top. click ok.

creating multiple guides

you can create set of evenly spaced guides @ 1 go.

• choose view > create multiple guides.

• specify number of columns , rows , required width between each guide. gutter, type value specify padding around each guide. later when specify object snap guide, if object within gutter space of guide, snaps guide.

  select:

  • center column: if want create guides center of stage.
  • clear existing guides: if want delete earlier guides.

  note:

  all values specified while creating multiple guides in pixels.

• click ok.

  note:

  you can create maximum number of 50 guides @ time using menu.
