transparent bkgrnd (pixels) showing behind bkgnd image (opacity)

hi. have searched google , on forum , still cannot find answer problem. should easy don't understand why cannot find answer. right clicked on jpeg image , opened photoshop (cs4) (the way found able use jpeg background image). when turn eye off layer visibility shows transparent. fine in , of itself. want background opaque. turned down opacity 80% , pixels transparent background showing through. how rid of transparent background now? have searched everywhere using different wording , nothing shows up. thank in advance help,

somehow turned background image floating layer. have had unlock layer able click on eyeball , adjust opacity.

 

the title go "background" "layer 0".

 

the way revert background layer select "flatten image" layer menu.
