Applying Gaussian blue to only select edges

i have created transparent colored shape has cutouts inside of it. say, rectangle circle cutout of it. want blur exterior 4 edges of rectangle keep circle cutout sharp lines.

 

a little more context. applying transparent colors on top of blue print. there buildings/sidewalks , whatnot, there large plot of grass surrounding everything. want blur exterior 4 edges of grass, keep mark lines grass meets buildings/sidewalks.

 

 

let me know if makes sense. cant upload exact image, if writing abstract can recreate drawing explain asking.

create additional white form above other, blur it, select both , create transparency mask. (window > transparency, extend panel)

Why is os_ViewContainer running?

when open illustrator (cc) opens window os_viewcontainer cannot view or close. shows in taskbar second window illustrator when mousing on ai icon. have tried select no luck. have tried clear using red x, no luck. close when close illustrator. wondering why there , if should concerned. oh, running windows 10. hi ccsachs,   as per query when launch illustrator opens " os_viewcontainer "   i request please share screenshots along below-mentioned details:   exact version of illustrator  graphic card using , when updated last time how performs in safe mode? Animate - problem with duplicating scripts after loop
